I have been awarded a summer research grant from Purdue University Calumet for 2008. The grant funds initial research into avatar technologies for the National Science Foundation. Check back for details.
05 | 10 | 2008 :: SITE Fellowship Honor
I have been awarded a SITE Fellowship for teaching excellence from Purdue University Calumet for 2008. The fellowship includes an all-expense paid inviation to a private retreat with colleagues in New Buffalo, MI on Lake Michigan. The retreat provides a setting for outstanding scholars and educators to discuss issues and topics relative to higher education and its role in the community. The retreat will be held June 4-6.

In association with Purdue University Calumet, I have been invited by the Chinese Government to give a presentation on Animation Technology in Shanghai, China. The presentation audience will consist of both chinese government officials and business leaders, and will cover topics ranging from applications and workflow. Presentation date is December 11th and 12th.

After several years in the field, I have accepted a full-time tenure-track faculty position witht Purdue University Calumet. As an Assistant Professor in the Computer Graphics Technology program I will be teaching a broad array of courses in design, digital imaging and interactive media. I will be living in and around the Chicagoland area. Details to be uploaded later.

The Tales and Trails project went on to earn a District 7 Gold Addy award from the American Advertising Federation for 2003. The AAF’s 7th “Deep South” District represents more than 3,200 individual AAF members who are affiliated with 29 local advertising federations in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, and southern Louisiana. Thanks again to Evergrow for the opportunity and to the AAF District 7 judges for the wonderful recognition.
